Greetings All!

I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to let everyone know our exciting news - Ethan Nicholas Abad is finally here! He was born on April 3rd, 2006 at 5:11 PM. Ethan weighed 9 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20.5 inches long.

Amazingly enough, that was exactly how much I weighed when I was born and we were the same length as well! When he was born, we couldn't figure out who he looked more like, me or Christian, but after looking at baby pictures of me, it is hard to tell the difference between us, we look so much alike. He's definitely got parts of his daddy as well - his fingers and toes are a miniature version of Christian's, poor thing!

Being a mom couldn't be more rewarding. Ethan is very sweet and good natured. He barely ever cries and at 4 weeks old he is already sleeping in his own room! I think moving him in his own room was more difficult for me than for Ethan! I have decided to stay home with him and not return to work, taking care of a baby is definitely a full time job. I find myself with an ever growing to-do list and not enough hours in the day.

I am looking forward to the summer weather so we can all enjoy the pool. If Ethan enjoys swimming half as much as his bath time, we should have a little fish on our hands before we know it. If anyone ever wants to come keep us company, we love visitors, so come on by anytime!

TheAbads.com Newsletter - Volume 4

Dear Family and Friends,

It's only been six months since our last newsletter and we have lots of exciting news to share. First off, we had a wonderful time in Costa Rica last summer. We traveled all throughout the countryside and enjoyed the beaches. We stayed in four different locations including Monte Verde, Tabacon, El Ocotal and Montezuma. We have hundreds of photos in our Costa Rica albums, be sure to check them out.

When we returned from Costa Rica, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that we were pregnant! We are expecting a son in April 2006. We have already decided on a name, Ethan Nicholas Abad, and are looking forward to Ethan's arrival. In preparation we have already begun collecting supplies and have even begun work on his room. Kari gets bigger and bigger every day. Be sure to check out Kari's pregnancy album so you can see pictures of the pregnancy (coming soon). She sure is beautiful!

Last, but certainly not least important, Christian decided to leave his full time job and start his own company. In October, Christian formed a web design and development firm called Accessible Computing, Inc. As president of his company, he has been quite busy with the start-up operations. Accessible Computing is off to a great start and has even been featured in the Wall Street Journal. 2006 promises to be a year of impressive growth for the company. Friends of The Abads:

Greetings from Charlotte, North Carolina! Christian and Kari have had some wonderful adventures since we last sent out a newsletter, almost 3 years ago! Here are some highlights from recent years:

In 2003, we vacationed in Hawaii for two weeks, spending one week on the island of Maui and one week on the island of Kauai. There are several hundred exquisite photos of these beautiful Polynesian islands in the Photo Gallery for you to enjoy.

In 2003 we also added a new member to our family - a cute Shetland sheepdog mix we named Oliver. He has to be one of the smartest dogs on the planet! We have even started calling each other Mom and Dad, practicing for the next addition. Having a dog is one of the best adventures in the world; we can't imagine life without him!

In 2004, we made a very exciting purchase for our family - a pop-up camper! We saved up our money and bought a barely-used "Skamper" pop-up trailer. We spent the summer visiting many campgrounds around North Carolina and frequenting any music festivals that tickled our fancy. Needless to say, this was a wonderful purchase that we couldn't be happier with. Our "Skamping" days are here to stay!

2005, so far, has been a whirlwind of fun, with Widespread Panic finally back after a 15 month hiatus. Since March 24th, we have seen to a total of 10 shows. (I know some of you think we're crazy, but we had to make up for lost time!) We saw three nights in Atlanta at the Fabulous Fox, three nights in NYC at Radio City Music Hall, two nights in Raleigh where Stacey, Kari's sister, got to see her very first show, and then took a limo to see them in Columbia, SC for our friend Shannon's birthday. We ended our Spring Tour with an incredible show in Asheville, NC. Every show gets better and better and we are now planning out our summer tour!

We traveled to New York City in March of 2005 where we stayed with Kari's "cousin-but-not-really" Matt Kryder. We had a wonderful time. This was my first trip to the Big Apple and I was quite amazed by this wonderful city. We visited "Ground Zero", which was quite an emotional experience. We explored Manhattan and saw Widespread Panic at Radio City Music Hall. We also saw the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island from the Staten Island Ferry and spent some quality time in Central Park. Time Square was a highlight, as were our adventures on the subway. The food was excellent and the people were quite pleasant. We love the Big Apple!

In July, we will be traveling to Costa Rica for a much needed two week vacation. We will be doing some SCUBA diving, exploring the tropical rain forests, and lounging on the beaches.

So, all is well for The Abads as I continue my journey in eCommerce and Kari continues to teach second grade at Windsor Park Elementary School. Summer vacation is fast approaching and Kari is always looking for friends to keep her company by the pool. Give a ring if you are in the area and have some free time!

TheAbads.com recently underwent a facelift! This is now the third iteration of our web site and its growing by the day. We now have over 4000 photos online! If you would like to store your digital photos online for FREE, just let us know and we'll get you started. It's now faster and easier to upload and process many files at once!

TheAbads.com Newsletter - Volume 2

Friends of The Abads:

It's been awhile since our last update...Things sure have been busy for us! We've been traveling all over the United States this Summer - it's been quite fun.

We recently returned from the Bonnaroo Festival. Quite simply - this is the BEST musical event we've EVER been to! With over 40 bands in 3 days on 4 stages what else could you expect? The music was terrific and the people were wonderful. It truly was the "City of Dreams"! There are many pictures in the Gallery to look at, so take a look when you have a chance.

In addition, there are many new photos in the Gallery - be sure to check out Mendy and Dave Mosley's Wedding and the new photos of the young ones.

I've also added some additional Photo Manipulation functionality for those who upload photos. Just select the [Manipulate Photo] option when editing your photos.
